Pierre C. Van Rysselberghe,

Pierre was born in Eugene, Oregon in 1958. He received a Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry from Pomona College in 1980. He worked in research and development for SmithKline Corporation between 1981 and 1988. Pierre attended Golden Gate University Law School in San Francisco, where he received his J.D. with honors and an achievement award for excellence in law and technology in 1989.

Pierre began practicing patent law with the Limbach and Limbach law firm in San Francisco in 1988, where he practiced patent law relating to technologies involving biotechnology and other chemical and mechanical inventions.

In 1992, Pierre returned to Oregon, where he joined Kolisch Hartwell. Pierre's practice has encompassed intellectual property protection involving patents, trademarks, copyrights, and trade secrets. Pierre assists clients with prosecution of patents and trademark registrations, licensing, freedom to operate opinions, and litigation to enforce or defend intellectual property rights. Pierre is experienced with due-diligence work involving public offerings, corporate acquisitions, IP transfer, funding, and investment. Pierre represents companies with large intellectual property portfolios as well as individual inventors.

Pierre is a frequent speaker on pertinent intellectual property topics. He is an active member of the California and Oregon State Bars, San Francisco and Oregon Intellectual Property Law Associations, Society of California Pioneers, Multnomah and American Bar Associations, and is registered to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.
