trademark attorney, Kolisch Hartwell, P.C.

Joseph Mohr is an intellectual property attorney whose practice involves obtaining, licensing, protecting, and enforcing IP rights for his clients. In addition to drafting and prosecuting patent and trademark applications, Joey provides patentability, right-to-manufacture, and patent validity analysis as well as trademark clearance and registerability searches. Technical Expertise and Professional Background

Joey grew up in Iowa City, Iowa. While pursuing his undergraduate degree in chemical engineering, Joey completed internships with 3M and Monsanto Chemical Company. After graduating, Joey accepted a pharmaceutical process engineer position with Abbott Laboratories in Chicago, Illinois.

As an engineer at Abbott, he served as a technical expert for the bulk manufacturing of drugs used in applications ranging from anesthesia to the treatment of HIV-AIDS. In 2002, Joey was awarded Abbott Laboratories’ President Award for a process design improvement. The improvement significantly reduced the cost and cycle time of a Clindamycin HCl manufacturing process.

Joey teaches copyright law as an Adjunct Professor at the Willamette University College of Law and engineering courses as an Adjunct Professor at the Oregon Institute of Technology. His courses at OIT include Heat Transfer Theory and Applications and Engineering Mechanics: Statics. The courses are part of a unique curriculum focusing on renewable energy.
