Elizabeth A. Tedesco is a senior associate attorney who specializes in intellectual property (IP) litigation, with an emphasis on patent litigation. She is experienced in trademark practice before the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board (TTAB), in various aspects of patent and trademark licensing, trademark prosecution, and in matters relating to trade-secret misappropriation and unfair competition. She teaches patent law at the University of Oregon.

Expertise and Professional Background

Originally from Portland, Oregon, Elizabeth attended Dartmouth College where she focused on English and creative writing, and received several academic citations in English and comparative literature. Elizabeth then attended Boston College Law School, where she was Senior Articles Editor for the nationally published Boston College Third World Law Journal, which selected Elizabeth’s article, Humanity on the Ballot: The Citizen Initiative and Oregon’s War Over Gay Civil Rights, for publication in 2001. Elizabeth also served as President of the Boston College Women’s Law Center.

Before joining Kolisch Hartwell, Elizabeth worked at Reed Smith LLP in San Francisco, California, where her practice included patent and copyright litigation, licensing, and general commercial litigation.

In August 2008, Elizabeth was appointed as an Adjunct Instructor at the University of Oregon School of Law to teach Patent Law and Policy. Her three-credit class discusses developments in patent law, including patentable subject matter, requirements for patentability and infringement, the process of enforcing and obtaining a patent, and contemporary controversies in patent law.
