
Brantley Shumaker is an intellectual property (IP) attorney who represents clients primarily in the prosecution of patents and trademarks, as well as in patent litigation. Brantley’s practice also includes providing analysis and opinions regarding patentability, freedom-to-operate, patent infringement, and patent validity. Brantley joined Kolisch Hartwell in 2006.
Technical Expertise and Professional Background
Brantley obtained extensive experience with computer software and hardware through various experiences prior to law school, including an internship with the print-quality software development group at Lexmark International, and employment as a network and database administrator/programmer at Lithocraft, Inc., in New Albany, Indiana. While his specific area of expertise is computer science, Brantley also practices in numerous other technology fields, including computer networking and security, electronics, computer imaging, medical devices, and toys.
